In Florida, tourism is just what we do. And no one does it better than Amelia River Cruises. While the sights are one of a kind, and the sounds are a peaceful melody, it isn’t the sight-seeing alone that keeps everyone coming back tour after tour. We are blessed with a great group of people who take great pride in providing the best possible experience one could have on a sight-seeing tour. Given the activities aboard our B.Y.O.B. Sunset Cruise, we know how to have a good time, too!

We are truly like a family here at Amelia River Cruises. Throughout the weeks, you will see a “shout out” to one of our team members every now and then. Everyone works so very hard and are all wonderful at what they do. Today, thanks go out to the ARC original, Kevin McCarthy. None of what we do would be possible without ARC’s founding owner, Kevin McCarthy. Kevin was born and raised in the seafaring city of Gloucester, Massachusetts. In the late 60’d, his parent dug up their roots, and the family was soon relocated to Fernandina Beach, Fl. After graduating from Fernandina Beach High School, Kevin married Cecilia Bennett and they raised five children. As good as he is at tour guiding, you would think he had been doing it his whole life. However, Kevin was actually a builder here in the surrounding Fernandina Beach area for nearly 30 years. At the turn of the Millennium, Kevin decided it was time for a change. Along with his wife Cecilia, he founded Amelia River Cruises in 2000. In Recent years, Kevin decided to have a cruise on weekend evenings that made it possible for guests to bring their own libations aboard. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Captain Pajama Dave, his first mate, and one of Fernandina’s locally acclaimed artists take you on a 2-hour tour around the island, weaving around the northern tip of Amelia and winding through the wild marsh. We would have made it a 3-hour tour, but it didn’t work out so well for Gilligan and that pretty lady.

Last season was great, and we are all very much looking forward to a busy spring. The musicians that will be performing this spring are all professionals living here on Amelia Island. With an array of different styles of performance and song selection, you are likely to have an entirely different music experience each time you board the boat on any given cruise, you may catch the incredible guitar talent of Mr. Dan Voll. On another you may here the original approach of international performer, Jim Baccaro. Larry LaMier performs on several cruises and I do as well. I play several gigs around the island on a regular basis and there “ain’t no gig like a booze cruise gig.” There’s always fun had by all. If you would like to book your cruise so that you may see the musician of your choice, listed below is the lineup for April and May. Please ask the Box office attendant if the performer is still the same. The schedule is subject to change, rare as it is.
