Meet Michele “Shell” Anders
September 22, 2019A Little About Shell
Meet Michele “Shell” Anders – she is originally from Central Pennsylvania, where she started singing and playing bass in cover bands while in college. This turned into a 10-year stint playing music on the Delaware and Maryland beaches. There she also began a career in radio broadcasting.
When her family moved to Florida, Shell wasn’t far behind. Radio kept her busy for several years and you may have heard her raspy voice rocking the airwaves as Michele Michaels on Jacksonville’s Rock 105.5 and 96.9 The Eagle radio stations.
Finding Her “Ultimate Happy Place”
In 2011, she met guitarist Dan Voll and a musical partnership was born. Dan and Shell played and sang together for over 6 years. Together they put out a beach themed CD entitled, “Kiss Me Salty” in the fall of 2016.
Since the tragic passing of Dan in 2018, Shell has found her way back into music. She traded in the bass for an acoustic guitar and performs solo all over Northeast Florida. Shell describes her sound as, “the Fernandina Beach Sound with a little bit of sand, spice and sea.”
Besides playing music (which she calls her “ultimate happy place), Shell teaches 10th grade World History, loves the beach and traveling with her husband Chad and Akita, Bodhi.
