Spring onto an Amelia River Cruise

Spring onto an Amelia River Cruise

April 27, 2022

Spring has sprung and folks are flocking back to the waterfront. Join them and spring onto an Amelia River Cruise boat for one of our exciting, narrated history and wildlife tours. These tours are now sailing seven-days-a-week.

10:00 AM Cumberland Tour

This boat ride is our longest adventure. This is a 2 1/2 hour tour giving you the best opportunity to learn some of Amelia Island and Cumberland Island’s fascinating history. Paired with wildlife sightseeing, our Captains know how to spot playful dolphins and the wild horses of Cumberland Island. You will learn about the Port of Fernandina, why Amelia Island is called the Isle of Eight Flags, and history of Fort Clinch before heading north into Georgia waters. Here your crew will cruise the shore of Cumberland Island telling the stories of the Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Kennedy families as well as how the wild horses of Cumberland Island came to be. Your cruise back to Fernandina will help you gain some working knowledge of the Kings Bay Nuclear Submarine Base and our local coast guard.

2:30 PM Beach Creek Cruise

This is an abbreviated tour of our Cumberland Island Tour. Lasting 1 1/2 hours, this cruise is perfect for small children or adults with limited attention spans. You will still hear plenty of tales from Amelia’s storied history. We will also take you a bit closer into Cumberland Island by traveling up a portion of Beach Creek before returning to the Fernandina Harbor.

7:00 PM Family Friendly Sunset Cruise

This one-hour tour travels along Amelia Island’s coast towards Fort Clinch before taking you to the southern tip of Cumberland Island in search of dolphins and wild horses. There is plenty of narration before settling back to watch nature’s spectacular sunsets. Clouds often help Mother Nature paint the sky in a variety of colors, making this tour popular every day of the week. (Keep in mind the Sunset Tour will change to a 7:30 PM departure time near Memorial Day.)

The above tours go out every day!

BYOB Adult Only Twilight Tour

On Friday and Saturday evenings cruises, at 6:30 PM, we toss out the narrator and bring on the live music for our BYOB Adult Only Twilight Tour. Pack a snackle box and bring a cooler with cups and ice. This is two hours of fun with family and friends. While enjoying the wind in your hair and your favorite beverage in your hand, you may see dolphins and wild horses, or perhaps pink elephants in the sunset. Either way, bring your ID. You will not be permitted onboard without proper identification. These cruises fill up fast, so be sure to check for your favorite musician when booking your tickets online. (This cruise time will also change towards the end of May.)
